I'm looking at buying some furniture for the entryway of our house online and I am by no means any kind of interior decorator so basically I want to make sure that these two main pieces will go well together. I have a narrow 15 foot hallway leading staright from my front door with a 7x8 entryway (or foyer) off to left. I have a matching table/mirror set in the entryway that will not fit in the narrow hall. Can I place another table in the hall that doesn't match when both are visible from the front door? I think a bench would also be too wide for the hall.

I am looking for an entryway bench, something unique, any ideas on stores or websites that would have something really cool?? Please don't answer with I don't know or something stupid like that.

Last night, I had to make a run to WalMart for some supplies I needed to complete a project for one of my college classes. As I was leaving, I saw a girl who couldn't have been older than 5 or 6 with no shoes in her pajamas with a pillow and blanket sleeping on one of the benches in the entryway while her mother was off shopping. I brought it to the attention of a security guard who shrugged it off like nothing! I sat near the girl and kept an eye on her until her mother and some guy (maybe her dad?) came back for her and without getting nasty at the woman in front of her child mentioned that the little girl shouldn't have been left alone like that to which the woman got overly defensive and cussed me in front of her kid. As we were leaving the store, I saw them put the girl in the car with no carseat or seatbelt, so I called in their plates to the police, hoping they'd help- but was told they didn't have time to go on a "wild goose chase" but they appreciated the call.. The "parents" only bought beer and doritos. I checked out what they had when they were leaving the store because I was trying to give them the benefit of the doubt that maybe whatever they needed couldn't wait until morning- but all they bought was a 12 pack and some chips.

They used to make a quick stop in practically every town on the map. Our place to board or return was a malt shop on main street. There were benches outside the door and a small waiting room in the entryway for adverse weather (which we have a lot of.) I remember sitting there, looking at all the passengers in their seats while the driver came in momentarily before taking off again, and wishing I was traveling with them.
